Hi NCZ Forum
Recently, I suffered from a Gallstones passing on early morning. Been rush to public hospital and been sick off for one and half yea. The E.R doctor carry out every single test known to mankind.
The doctor order a ultrasound and nothing come up, he was still not happy with the results and out come and order a high resolution ultrasound and found 40 gallstones. After discharged out of hospital and went to my family doctor, and get clearance to have keyhole operation.
With a referal letter in hand and blood test clear, I called the specialist doctor to arranged the operation. The power of email and scan document to the specialist office and make a called to confirmed the email. They arranged a consultant meeting about the operation the pro and con's and risk factor of the operation.
As i'm slightly overweight but in good health the specialist doctor, agreed to operated and it was arranged with a week of the first meeting. Arrival into the private hospital and check in which is full cover by health insurance. The hospital with a single suit with a colour television with a land line phone with a direct number so my family and friends can call me.
The same day as check in, mid afternoon the specialist team visit me and get ready for the operation. Been check with name, date of birth and operation type to confirmed with the right person for the right operation. I went under the knife and slept through it. Woke up half asleep from the drugs for the operation.
With slight pain on the left side where the bag to collect the blood from the operation of the hole where the gallbladder was, four cuts - one in the belly button, one mid of the chest and two on the left side, one for the tubing for the bag and the stick cut to hold the bag. It was uncomfortable at times but nothing as passing a gallstone.
It was 24 hours from the check in to discharge. The service, I received from the private hospital and staff there was amazing and worth every cent of the cost of the health insurance. After a four days recovery bed bound and i was up and moving within a week, Note is not normal it ten to fourteen days recovery period.
When i went to the specialist talking about the pro and con's. It possible of weight gain or lost, So it over 2 months since the operation, with a new lease on life. I have lost on average 5 kgs per week with a diet with one day per week to having a reward day of eating not on the diet list. Drink cranberry juice mixed with water and watching intake of food.
Gallbladder is like a flitter to process of fat so you need to watch your fat intake and start do walking with approval with your doctor. I personal like to thank my wifey and family for there support, the specialist and medical team and supportive service, unity brisbane for there prays and the health insurance company and any other people who involved with the operation and recovery.
